Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report |
A detached three-bay kitchen of c 1500, built mostly from re-used timbers. Occupation material beneath its clay floors suggests that an earlier building of different shape existed, perhaps associated with the surviving hall house of c 1400. Reports on the finds include `The quernstone' by Hilary Major (184--5), `Pottery' by Helen Walker (184--6), `The bricks' by D D Andrews (186) and `Clay pipe' by Hilary Major (186). D D Andrews & D F Stenning contribute an appendix: `Description of the outbuilding at Great Yeldham' (190). | |||
