Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report |
Discusses Caesar's version of events and suggests locations for some of them, eg oppidum Cassivellauni as Wallbury fort or Ring Hill camp. Cassivellaunus may have been a Trinobantian (clearly Caesar is concealing something here). The passage also demonstrates Caesar's preference for the sensational over the sober and accurate account. His passage on the settlers ex Belgio seems to imply no 'Belgic' invasion, and there is no need to infer a British tribe of Belgae. | ||
