TQ 774929. Limited excavation produced evidence of Iron Age occupation and a late Roman enclosed farm with Argonne ware. Settlement appeared to be shifting, within a very restricted area between two streams, from BA to early Saxon times: there was a BA burial, and sherds of Iron Age-early Roman and early Saxon date. There were also traces of a possible medieval water mill, and the 1800 bridge (turnpike trust type) was recorded. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
