Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report |
Second in a series of three papers concerning a substantive re-interpretation of the crannog. The paper describes and discusses the pre-crannog, Early Medieval phase and its associated assemblage. It is postulated that this horizon is a unique example of a deer-hunting, and possibly feasting, camp and bathing place of the aristocracy, as well as a deer hide and tine processing location, dating from the later-sixth century AD.
