Abstract:		 Reports the excavation of a late-second-century AD Roman villa. Inside the villa an extensive hoard of 9238 silver denarii was discovered dating from between the first century AD and 224 AD. The majority of the coins date from c. 200 AD. Evidence for an Iron Age settlement was found situated on the northern slopes, which was superseded in the first-century AD by a new field-system. In the early-third century the villa seems to have been totally demolished. The article comprises:
