Abstract:
Report of the partial excavation of the ploughed-down remains of a complex round barrow, two of whose ditches were revealed while a third was indicated by an aerial photograph dating from 1979. Finds included struck flints, pottery, a possible bead consisting of a chalk fossil sea-sponge, and human and animal bones. The bulk of the pottery was identified as Late Neolithic Grooved Ware, although Late Bronze Age, Iron Age, Belgic and Roman wares were also discovered. Specialist reports include
