Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report |
Discusses a nine-sided Roman shrine situated in a small settlement at a junction between two roads. Compares the shrine to similar examples around the country and reflects on the potential nature of the cult. The shrine complex was apparently demarked from an early stage in the development of the site, almost certainly in the pre-Flavian period. The first structural development of the shrine may not have taken place before the early-second century AD and once in place the structural components appear to have survived for a considerable time. | ||||||||||
