TR 124369. Cropmarks on a vertical air photograph of 1946 are suggestive of a group of six or seven large boat-shaped halls lying in parallel. An 18th-century tradition exists of an Anglo-Saxon palace here, and although resistivity survey and trial excavations were inconclusive, and deep ploughing has destroyed the cropmarks, the site should be kept under surveillance. | |||
