Notes on the survey of the ecclesiastical monument published in 1912 and also used as a visitors' guide to the site. Although a very valuable archaeological record, this survey is thought too detailed and technical for use as a guidebook. In 1914 two visitors commented on the guidebook's `lofty conversation' in a humourous poem, which is reproduced here. |
