Abstract:
New building development led to the discovery of more of a Saxon cemetery originally excavated in the 1950s. Two hundred and fifty graves were examined and most were sixth century in date. Gold bracteates or pendants were found along with brooches, weapons, buckles and beads, and some graves contained pottery. The style of the material is argued to represent a Northern French or Rhineland influence, rather than a Jutish one.
