Abstract:
Two additional Roman forts have been discovered. A late 1st century barrack with horse-trappings overlies double ditches of a very large fort; earlier still are a turf rampart and some ephemeral timber structures. There may be a 3rd-4th century agricultural settlement, and for the medieval period three drying or malting kilns were found. The Roman fort's N rampart stood, and acted as a boundary, well into postmed times.
