Abstract:
Reports on the progress of the farm survey and presentation grants scheme, which was launched in 1988 to coincide with the publication of Ancient Monuments in the Countryside (see 88/122). The powers of EH and local authorities under section 45 of the Ancient Monuments & Archaeological Areas Act 1979 are explained and the types of features for which grants are considered are noted. The Countryside Stewardship scheme is also mentioned. Examples of current farm survey schemes are given.
