Abstract:
Reports on archaeological projects studying the intertidal zones of the English coastline. One such survey, in Essex, has identified c 4,000 year-old Neolithic land surfaces that have enabled environmental studies and radiocarbon dating to be undertaken. A settlement site has also been located at The Stumble mudflats. The problem of protecting intertidal deposits is also considered.
