Abstract:
A report on a third season of excavations at Hyde Abbey, Winchester, in which local people are able to work alongside professional archaeologists (see also 98/802). A terrace and revetment wall, part of the church, and a fifteenth-century building spanning the mill stream were investigated. The building may have been a latrine -- incorporated into its walls was found a sculpted female head with painted decoration (possibly thirteenth century in date).
