Abstract:		 Archaeological monitoring in connection with the construction of a cycle-way through part of the playing fields of the Kings of Wessex School, Cheddar, provided evidence indicating archaeological activity of Roman date, adding to existing evidence for Roman occupation in the area. Evidence included the remains of walls and a possible rutted trackway, along with stone spreads and deposits containing pottery and other Roman occupation debris.
