Abstract:
The Collared Urn in the EBA grave assemblage from Wilsford Barrow 7, excavated by William Cunnington and Richard Colt Hoare in 1808 and in the Museum of the Wiltshire Archaeological and Natural History Society since 1878, was re-conserved in 1990. Its original conservation was by Cunnington himself soon after excavation and, assuming there was no interim conservation work, the significance of the incorporation of a Beaker sherd -- and implication that said Beaker sherd was part of the same original assemblage -- is considered.
