Report of the excavation of a small, low cairn which lies on the edge of an extensive cairn field. Radiocarbon dating of charcoal suggested a Late Neolithic/Early Bronze Age date for the cairn. The relatively elaborate nature of the cairn is taken to imply that it had a ritual function, as opposed to an origin as a clearance cairn. | ||||
