The remains of a late Roman villa was confirmed by trial excavation, demonstrating the establishment of at least one Romano-British farming estate from beyond previously known limits of villa-building in Wales. The discovery raises significant new questions regarding the regional economy and society in late Roman Wales and raises the possibility of further discoveries possibly from the re-assessment of unusual enclosures. | ||||
