Abstract:
A single cutting was made through the henge bank and ditch to obtain 14C samples and palaeobotanical information. A cist burial with a cremated female and child had been dug into the bank. The first appendix provides a `Description of stratigraphy in the north face of 1987 cutting' (41). `Appendix 2: analysis of skeletal remains' is by J L Wilkinson (41--2), and `Appendix 3: pollen analysis of buried soil and ditch deposits' is by D A Weir (42--7).
