Abstract:		 In 1991 a short rescue excavation of a shell midden deposit at Minnis North on the Antrim coast was undertaken. The midden had been almost completely eroded away by land slippage. A surviving part of the midden was recognised in an eroding section over thirty-seven metres long and yielded two species of marine shell, winkles and common limpets as well as part of the pelvis and long bones of an adult female. Excavation to the south of the exposed section revealed an absence of midden deposits in that area. Some flint material was recovered. The `Human remains' are detailed by Laureen Buckley (117), the `Land mollusca' by Roy Anderson (118), and the `Animal remains' by Finbar McCormick (118--19).
