Report on a hoard of bronze and gold objects found at Trevalyn Farm, Rossett during a metal-detecting rally. The hoard comprises the blade and tang of a bronze tanged knife (in two fragments) and a bronze faceted axe, both of which were reported under the Portable Antiquities Scheme for Wales. Subsequent cleaning revealed four fragments of a gold penannular bracelet within the socket of the axe. The objects were found in the upcast from a drainage ditch of unknown but probably post-medieval date, and subsequent investigations indicated that the original context had probably been destroyed by the digging of the ditch. The items are described in detail and the results of a metallurgical analysis of the gold bracelet fragments is given, and the article concludes with an in-depth discussion of these and other finds of a similar nature from Wales and elsewhere in the British Isles.
