Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report |
Reports on the results of excavations carried out in 1988 on an area on the bank of the River Ver, south-west of the abbey church. A comparatively short but intensive period of occupation in the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries, with remains of two large buildings was found. One building comprised a drying or malting oven and granary, the other is interpreted as a possible threshing-floor. Specialist reports consist of `Pottery' by Alison Turner-Rugg (69--76), `Animal bones' by A J Wade (78--9), and `Seeds' by Margaret Murphy (79--8). Small finds of iron, copper alloy, bone, and fired clay are also noted. | ||||||||
