Interim report on the investigation of hypotheses about the Abbeydale Works site, Sheffield, before its post-1770 expansion. The account aims to raise awareness of features which should be treated as particularly sensitive. The Works itself is a small site which is an integral part of a larger system, aspects of which are discussed, including features in Ecclesall Woods and remains higher up and lower down the River Sheaf. The transition from the earlier to the later period is also discussed. |
