The abstract describing the content of the publication or report
Abstract:		 Reports excavation of part of the lower terrace and the main or middle terrace. A large area was examined but not completely excavated, and work remains to be done. In the northern area a small structure with intermittent fragments of slate walls against bed-rock face was investigated. Floor deposits, a putative fire, worked slate, coarsewares and imported pottery were also discovered. The structure is thought to be fifth or sixth century. In the southern area there were fewer structural remains and more tip or scree. Worked slates and pottery, including coarsewares and imported amphorae, were found. An underwater survey at Tintagel Haven is also reported. A sandy channel was located, but adverse weather conditions prevailed and further work is needed. The beach was also fieldwalked and pottery found, particularly in rocky areas.
