Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report |
Gives an overview of training excavations run by the Cornwall Archaeological Society in the 1960s and 1970s, focusing on the cultural experience these events provided. A joint project with English Heritage's Central Excavation Unit was run between 1978 and 1983 (the Lizard Project, involving both fieldwalking and excavation), but following this the Society did not set up its own excavations again until 2007. Summaries of the training and activities available during the following three more recent projects are given: Hay Close, St Newlyn East, 2007; Boden Vean, St Anthony-in-Meneage, 2008; Carn Galva and Bosporthennis, Zennor, 2009.
