Abstract:
Report on the excavation of this three-phase site in north Gower. An early period of mixed domestic and ecclesiastical activity was focused upon a small timber church. This was later replaced by a larger stone church, which might have ceased to function as such by 1214. From c 1240 to c 1350 the former church was used as a habitation. A survey of related documentary evidence and of iron ore deposits and possible furnace locations (thought to have been an important element in the site's economy) are also included.
