Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report |
Illustrates the diversity of field evaluation being done by the University of Newcastle upon Tyne in advance of forestry, quarrying, and seismic borehole work. Large amounts of data have been passed to the County SMR from this work: an example is the Wandylaw Moor survey where five main phases of exploitation were recognized. Urban evaluation has also been done, and a range of geoarchaeological methods employed to investigate Holocene valley fills and the like. Versatility is the key to the wide range of logistical and interpretational problems involved in an area of upland and moorland fringe. | ||
