[SH 3076]. Reconsideration of the find of bronze and iron objects confirms their votive character but suggests local manufacture for many of them. The Welsh Marches, for instance, are now seen to have had Continental connections in 4th century BC, and N Wales has the Cerrig-y-Drudion bowl. The arguments for a N Welsh school of metalworking, and for Irish-Scottish contacts through Holyhead, are strong; the impression of N Welsh backwardness is falsely created by the absence of pottery. | |||||
