Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report |
The article describes a small and controversial group of flint artefacts, the striking feature of which is their unusual form, comprising three pointed arms or branches, coupled with neat flaking and indications that special care must have been taken in their manufacture. It is demonstrated that while there are some difficulties in replicating the form, no special techniques are required, and that their manufacture would have been within the compass of an individual used to knapping other types of tool. While the available data is catalogued and discussed, it is acknowledged that the controversy concerning the date and authenticity of these artefacts remains. | ||
