Abstract:

Archaeological recording undertaken in May 1993 during pipeline construction near Parsonage Cross, Littlehempston, revealed the remains of post-built structures constructed on the site of previous, though undefined, occupation. These were reminiscent of the type of post structures commonly found on Iron Age sites in Devon and elsewhere, and of a form that continued in use throughout the Roman and into the post-Roman period. A radiocarbon date of AD 10--410 was obtained from one of the post-holes. Includes
