Abstract:
During 1999--2000 part of a large deposit of pottery waste was recovered from the site of the Stella Maris Convent School in Bideford. A stratified group contains sgraffito-decorated ware dating to the 1750s; the rest of the material is broadly late-seventeenth-century in date. A revised type-series of North Devon wares an a classification of the most common patterns are offered. Includes
