Report describing observations and archaeological recording undertaken during a major refurbishment in 1996--8 of 67 South Street, one of the best-preserved seventeenth-century merchant's houses in Exeter and one of only a small group of historic structures to have survived destruction in World War 2 air raids and subsequent redevelopment. The façade of the house remains substantially unaltered, with original oriel windows on both the first and second floors. Inside, a decorated plaster ceiling of unusual design and an early framed staircase survive. | |||
