Abstract:
Following the chance discovery of Neolithic pottery, four small excavations as well as limited fieldwalking and geophysical survey were carried out on a hilltop field to the west of the village of Membury between 1986 and 2000. In the course of this a group of Neolithic pits were revealed followed by a section of ditch as well as several Roman features including the first `corn drier' to be found in Devon.
