Abstract: Reports on a study of the landscape history of the parishes of Corfe Castle and Worth Matravers, continuing a theme of the Purbeck Project (see also 93/1037). It is argued that Corfe may have been an important royal centre, but the ownership and size of land units is hard to reconstruct from documentary and archaeological evidence. Evidence for continuity through the first millennium AD is reviewed.
