A series of exploratory trenches confirmed the existence of a terrace visible on the RCHME plan of Site C on the east of the island, and revealed indications of stone walls consisting of small flat slabs. Finds were few; local and imported pottery was recovered but no medieval pottery. Partial re-excavation of a 1930s trench on another terrace revealed a burnt feature and B Ware pottery sherds. An area disturbed by upgrading of visitors' steps revealed a rich midden deposit containing imported A and B Ware pottery and two glass vessel fragments, and a survey at Tintagel Haven recovered abraded pottery.
