Excavation on the site of crop marks produced evidence of two ditches and features including a possible hearth. A glass or quartz bead and a piece of samian pottery were also recovered. The site is dated to the late second or early third centuries AD and it is noted that it resembles an Iron Age open settlement. Further work is needed before definite conclusions can be drawn. | |||||||||||||
