Abstract:
Reports the discovery, during refurbishment, of voids beneath the floor which represented circa three tombs -- one of apparently high status. This may point to the vestry's original function as having been that of chantry or mortuary chapel. There is some speculation as to the family involved, with the De Ferrers of Leicestershire high on the list.
