Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report |
Excavation revealed evidence for an east range of three rooms (a slype, a chapter house, and a parlour), apparently dated to a single construction period (c. 1190 AD). After the Dissolution this range was gradually robbed and then the area was used as a farmyard, receiving rubbish deposited from the neighbouring mansion. It was partly excavated in 1914 and turned into an aviary and latterly a rose garden. The reredorter was not found nor was there any evidence of the main drain adjoining this range. | ||||
