Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report |
Reports on pollen, charcoal, and radiocarbon studies on a peat profile from Kinloch, some 300m from the earliest known Meso occupation site in Scotland (see 91/371). The profile begins c 7800 BP, with agriculture beginning c 4000 BP. A period of reduced Alnus and Corylus between 5950 and 5700 BP, with high concentrations of charcoal, may result from human (ie Meso) influence. Other features of the vegetation are reported.
