Small populations need high migratory flow to avoid extinction; this involves both gene flow and cultural exchange, sometimes over wide geographical areas. Such exogamous groups should show high biological and cultural interpopulational homogeneity. Study of Pleistocene bone and cultural material tended not to reject this hypothesis. Au (abr) |
