Reports excavations on barrows at West Heath Common and Alfriston; field surveys of Alfriston and of the coastal plain round Oving; further work on the Neo to early Saxon site at Bishopstone; the Crawley RB ironworking site, with discussion of the industry's organization; excavation of a short Saxo-Norman occupation in Lewes North Street; medieval pits in Hastings Winding Street; a 16th-17th century forge and fulling mill at Ardingly with timber and masonry structurcs; and preliminary observations on two systems of flotation (Cambridge froth flotation cell and a Siraf-type unit) with suggestions for improvements to the much cheaper Siraf unit.
