Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report |
Reviews published and unpublished data for breadth/length ratios for tools and unretouched flint flakes in post-glacial assemblages from southern England. A model for technological change for the period is proposed that takes account of the results of multivariate analyses of these data. One general result is to show that the waste assemblages have structural patterning analogous to that of the retouched implements and weapons; there is a growing carelessness about core formation and a greater reliance on finding flakes that can be made to serve.
