Abstract:
Reports various discoveries from the churchyard on high cliffs opposite Tintagel Island. Long-cist burials occur within and near the churchyard, which overlies part of an embanked enclosure. Of eight small mounds, one opened in 1942 disclosed an unusual cist, apparently stratified above long cists. Provisional interpretation: 'diffuse' early Christian cemetery from late 5th century, enclosure with mounds for 'speciai graves' from 6th (?for several centuries), and building of parish church in early 12th (see also 89/1591, 89/1631).
