Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report |
SP 344752. Describes the discovery of the Roman fort, its excavation, subsequent research and the building of a simulated rampart, gateway and granary. Records of the logistics involved, the rate of ditch silting and so on, will aid future research. The museum displays, housed in the "granary", attempt to provide truthful, non-theatrical interpretations in three dimensions, for such, it is argued, is the proper role of archaeology. |
