Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report |
A 14ft diameter timber hut of the smaller Glastonbury type was built in 175 man-hours. The main roof support was a tripod of poles, round which wall poles were set. These, when withy-woven, proved strong enough to need no tie-poles at wallplate level. Roof poles were lashed in place and thatched over a withy framework. The walls were plastered with a clay and straw mixture. The effects of burning down the structure were noted. See also 68/025. |
