Abstract:		 Preliminary report on excavations at Coolfore in 2000--1, prior to construction of the M1 motorway (Gormanston to Monasterboice) near the Brú na Bóinne World Heritage Site in the Boyne Valley. The excavations revealed the remains of an Early Neolithic settlement containing two rectangular slot-trench buildings on either side of a cobbled yard, along with pitting and hearths.
