The Stanbury Hill Community Archaeology Project, which ran from 2008 to 2013, investigated a Late Neolithic/Early Bronze Age landscape on Stanbury Hill, Bingley Moor, West Yorkshire. Funded by a Heritage Lottery Fund grant, it was a co-operative venture between the Bingley and District Local History Society and the Division of Archaeological, Geographical and Environmental Sciences at the University of Bradford. Here the author, formerly the project's director, looks back on his experience of setting up and running a community archaeology project and on some of the successes and problems such projects face. |
