Abstract:
Arrhenius' recent review (see 75/3080) of the Helgö workshop studies was somewhat premature, particularly on the nature of the production techniques of the workshop. Technical studies of the material are still at an early stage, as the extant publications have made clear, although several of Arrhenius' suggestions can already be refuted. Attention is also drawn to a number of misconceptions and misleading statements on her part.
