Abstract:
Reports two phases of field evaluation at Prices Candle Factory, Battersea, which identified the substantial remains of seventeenth- and eighteenth-century buildings. The area around the structure consisted of gardens, with some ancillary buildings and a pond. The site was documented to be the location of an early post-medieval property of the Archbishops of York known variously as Sylverton, Bridge Court, York Place and York House. See 2003/561.
