Abstract:
Report on archaeological investigations at 82--6 Old Kent Road, London SE1, during redevelopment in 2004. The excavations identified a series of roadside ditches and a stone building alongside Roman Watling Street, along with evidence for burials and agriculture. Burial evidence from pits adjacent to the building suggests that the area was in use as a cemetery from at least c. AD 120.
